This Privacy Policy describes how SmartCalc ("we", "our", or "the App") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy.
1. Information we do not collect (local-first guarantee)
SmartCalc operates primarily as an offline-first utility application. We do not require account registration, email sign-ins, or profile creation.
- Calculations & inputs: any figures, loan details, GST values, birth dates, or units you enter in our calculators are computed locally on your device in real-time and are never transmitted to our servers.
- Notes & saved content: notes and reminder entries created within the App are stored solely in a local database (SQLite) on your device. We have no access to your private notes.
2. Third-party services & automated data collection
To support our development, provide ads, and process optional in-app purchases, the App utilizes trusted third-party SDKs that may collect technical and pseudonymous data:
- Google AdMob: serves advertisements within the app. AdMob may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers (like Google Advertising ID), network provider, and basic app interaction metrics to deliver relevant or non-personalized ads and prevent fraud. 3. Permissions used
The app only requests the minimum standard permissions required for functionality:
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: needed strictly for loading third-party banner/rewarded advertisements and checking connectivity for ad delivery. All core calculation tools remain functional offline.
- BILLING (com.android.vending.BILLING): used solely to process purchases and premium feature access through the Google Play Store.
4. Data retention and security
Since we do not operate remote user databases or collect personal identification data, we do not store your data on external servers. All user-generated content (notes and calculator states) resides locally in your device's sandbox storage. If you uninstall the app or clear app data, local notes and cached settings will be permanently erased.
5. Children's privacy
Our service is not targeted at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information to a third-party partner via our app, please contact us so we can investigate and address it.
